Precious moments bedding is the ideal product for anyone who collects this loveable line of characters. Expectant moms are selecting this type of nursery blankets for good reason. The adorable characters offer charm and soft colors that will make any room suitable for your little one.
I was really torn between the Precious Moments bedding and a Noahs Ark theme for my childs room. While I have always loved the Precious Moments characters I have always dreamed of my childs nursery decked out in a Noahs Ark theme. The decision was pretty difficult.
Part of the problem was that I had already purchased some Noahs Ark inspired pieces for the room. There is a lovely lamp and night light in this theme and I also purchased an adorable toy box shaped like an arc. How could I suddenly introduce the Precious Moments bedding into this room?
I finally decided to forget about the lovable characters for my childs room but I did this regretfully. I added a Noahs Ark crib set to my gift registry and put the loveable idea of the Precious Moments bedding to rest. However, one of my baby shower guests took it upon herself to do a little independent shopping.
My boisterous cousin is a real pro when it comes to motherhood. She clips coupons and juggles a home based business while caring for a toddler and an infant. She also does a lot of research into the hottest trends in nursery dcor. It is a real passion for her. In fact, she was the one who initially mentioned that the Precious Moments bedding was very popular.
After she looked at my gift registry, she phoned just about everyone she knew. Anyone she thought was going to attend my shower received a call stating that they should not buy the Noahs Ark crib set. She intended to purchase a Precious Moments bedding set instead.
Normally this would be unheard of considering that it was my choice but my friends and family knew that my cousin knew her stuff. When I opened her gift (which was saved for very last), I gasped. I was looking at everything I wanted in the Precious Moments bedding. The theme of this set is Noahs Ark.
Now my childs nursery is complete. I have the Precious Moments bedding with the adorable characters in a Noahs Ark scene. Im so glad that my cousin has a mind of her own.

It seems that most of our ideas regarding continence related issues such as potty training and bed-wetting are passed down from our parents. Some parents take a more relaxed view of these matters whereas others are more stringent. This is also the case with pediatricians and other medical professionals. For example I saw an ad some years ago by a famous pediatrician(I believe it was T.Berry Brazleton) saying in essence that in terms of potty training parents should let nature take its course and follow the child’s natural growth process-when the child is ready the parents should then begin a training regimen.
There are differences of opinion about when a child is ready for potty training. The psychologist John Rosemond disagrees with what is called the child-centered approach espoused by Dr. Brazleton and feels that children should be out of diapers as soon as possible. According to the website www.dy-dee.com Rosemond believes it is “a slap to the intelligence of a human being that one should allow a baby to continue soiling and wetting himself past age 2.”
A Mayo Clinic article states that a large number of children become interested in potty training at age 2 but some don’t show an interest until 2 and ½ years or older. As mentioned there should be reasonable parameters established for these situations to rule out physical and/or cognitive problems but we also need to take into consideration the fact that people’s bodies develop at different rates. Also some people do have physical and/or cognitive reasons for being delayed in this area. The reason for mentioning people’s attitudes regarding toilet training is that many persons extrapolate their ideas from this area onto matters of bed-wetting and diaper use. I n my opinion this extrapolation is not warranted.
For some reason our notions about potty training and when our children should attain night dryness have been linked-we feel that if the child is “mature” enough to use the toilet they should be mature enough to be able to sleep through the night without wetting themselves. It follows from this that if they are grown up enough to not need diapers because they have learned to use the potty, they should be grown up enough to not need diapers during the night. But we must realize that there is not necessarily a correlation between when a child is potty trained and their ability to stay dry at night. Some children might be able to be potty trained at an early age and not achieve night dryness for many years(in some cases never-there are plenty of adults who still wet the bed and have this problem their whole lives). Physical and mental capabilities of all sorts sometimes develop at different rates.
Continence and people’s conceptions of maturity have been inextricably linked in many person’s minds for a long time. I firmly believe it’s time to rethink this. There may be physical or cognitive components(or both) that can be responsible for a person being delayed in their ability to achieve continence including those with bed-wetting problems. The fact that they have these problems and might need diapers to manage them is not a reflection on their “maturity.” People have ailments effecting different parts of their body-their heart, liver, eyes, ears, etc. and use whatever means necessary to correct or manage the problem why should it be any different with a problem like bed-wetting?
Parents like to tell the child how much of a “big kid” they are for not having to wear diapers any more. I realize that parents have good intentions with this approach because children are motivated to act and behave more like adults and the parents and other relatives of the child feel this method will help in this regard. I can also understand why children are proud of each accomplishment whether physical or cognitive that moves them closer to adulthood and independence such as learning to tie one’s shoes, learning to swim without products such as “water wings”,being able to take the training wheels off their bike, etc. These are examples of things that demonstrate a child’s competency and their ability to learn a new skill which to the child is a great source of pride. However, the fact that a child has to wear diapers for bed-wetting has nothing at all to do with this. A situation such as this is solely about the person having the ability to control certain bodily functions. A person can be the most highly intelligent, skilled, and competent person in the world yet not have the capability to stay dry at night for whatever reason.
People reading this article might come to the conclusion that I believe a person should just use diapers for their bed-wetting due to the emphasis on these products. Nothing could be further from the truth. As mentioned earlier I don’t believe that people should just rely on diapers and not seek out various cures for their bed-wetting. It’s very important that a person seek medical advice in order to rule out a potentially serious condition. However,if after seeing a doctor and serious conditions have been ruled out,if all avenues at curing the bed-wetting have proven unsuccessful, are not viable,or not desirable for whatever reason, and if the pull-ups or “Goodnites” are ineffective at protecting the youngster, then the parents need to consider other diapering options such as pin-on diapers covered with plastic pants or disposable tape-on diapers. Although it might take the child or teen some adjustment wearing the diapers,I think in the long run it’s better for the child-after all it’s unhealthy and unsanitary(not to mention uncomfortable) lying all night in wet sheets and clothing.
I am a psychology major who writes about the stigma surrounding using diapers to manage nocturnal enuresis(the clinical term for bed-wetting) in older children, adolescents, and teenagers. The purpose of writing my articles is twofold-1.) to help people become more aware of the different diapering options out there for bed-wetters and 2.) to help older children and teens feel less embarrassed about wearing diapers to bed.

If you have severe allergies, you may have already tried many different things to help your sensitivities, from installing filters in your furnace and better windows in your home. You may even take medication to control your reactions. Now may be the time add allergy bedding to your arsenal against your allergies. What is allergy bedding and how does it work?
For normal bedding and linens, it’s easy for dust, dead skin cells, pet dander, and other irritants, to get lodged in the fibers of these items. Most linens have very loosely woven fibers where these elements can lodge and stay. With allergy bedding the fibers are typically woven much tighter so that there are less “pockets” for these things to settle into. This type of bedding also works to encase your entire bed so that you have less dust and dust mites that can settle into your actual mattress and box springs. When you have irritants that settle into your mattress it really doesn’t matter what your linens are as you’ll always have allergens that lodge close to your skin.
So if you have an interest in allergy bedding, what items should you invest in or should you just purchase every product out there for maximum protection? In reality most allergy sufferers do well to purchase at least pillow covers and sheets. Why is this? It’s been said that a pillow increases some 10% in weight in one year due to dust mites, dead skin cells, and other elements that get inside. Buying a good pillow cover as part of your bedding is always recommended! And after ten years the average mattress actually doubles in weight because of dead skin cells and other irritants as well. Many people make it a practice to vacuum their mattress with the vacuum cleaner hose every month or so in order to cut down on this occurrence. By purchasing allergy bedding that includes sheets or a cover for your mattress you’re going to protect your skin and your lungs from breathing in these elements during your sleep.
Remember too that dust mites and things such as these that are found in your bedding are not just a cause of allergies but can also cause asthma and skin rashes as well. These elements can get into your lungs and settle on your skin, so that you can have many different types of allergic reactions. By investing in anti-allergy type of bedding you can protect your lungs, your skin, your respiratory system, and everything else from sensitivity and irritants.
Keep in mind too that allergy bedding is usually just as affordable as any other type of linen so consider it as a worthwhile investment in your overall health.
If you do develop allergies from your bedding consider taking Quercitin. Quercitin is a very powerful antioxidant and can reduce inflammation boost the immune system and strengthen blood vessels and improve circulation. Quercitin is also known for its ability to block the release of histamines, thus reducing or preventing allergy symptoms. Take 500 mg twice daily.
A number of studies have suggested that taking antioxidants such a Vitamin A reduces the risk of bronchial-constriction. Vitamin A is stored in the liver and fat cells of the human body and can reach toxic levels. DO NOT take more than the recommended dosage of Vitamin A.
Always consult your doctor before using this information.

When decorating a child room, it is very essential that you pick out bedding that will compliment and go well with the room. Children’s bedding is very easy to find at any linen store or at your local Wal-Mart, K mart, Targets, Meijer’s, Burlington coat factory, and Toy R Us, just to name off a few. If you do not have a store nearby it would also be a good idea to browse internet sites that will be able to deliver the bedding to your house. It is very important that a child’s room not only provide them with safety, but also provide them with imagination, security, and a good place to grow up in. Your bedroom and especially children bedrooms is the number one place they might spend all of their time in so make it worth the stay. The first step in picking out the right children bedding is to first have an idea on how you want to decorate the room as far as the color scheme and what is going to go where in the room. Once you have that idea down pack then you can decide on the actual design that you want to focus on. A good tip in starting on your child’s room would be to find out something that he or she is into. Whether it is a favorite color, favorite hobby, favorite cartoon, favorite idol, you can incorporate that into the room when you are decorating. If your child’s favorite sport is football then you can use that idea to decorate the room and pick out the right bedding to go with the decorations. And for example if your daughter love unicorns then this idea can be used to decorate her room also. Start with buying the bedding first, once you have picked out the bedding them you can work in all the colors, decorations, and furniture to bring out the bedding. Some other things that you can do to bring out the bedding is to buy matching curtains and a matching border to go around the room. If you are limited on money you can just purchase these 3 items instead of going all out and buying the matching accessories and matching furniture. Once you have picked out the bedding, curtains, and border, you should take the main color in each of those items and that color should be the color that you want to add on the wall so that it all blend in good. Lastly there is another important factor that you will have to consider when buying bedding for your children. If you are decorating a baby or infant room make sure it is safe. If your children have allergies then you might want to wash your children’s bedding quite often to get rid of the dust. To reduce dust might and allergens you can zip the mattress up in plastic cover to prevent dust mites from getting into the mattress. If your children have asthma then stay away for bedding or pillows that are made out of down pillows, foam, or feather. Good Luck!!

Of all the elements that go into decorating a bedroom and creating a personal oasis, bedding can have an amazing affect on the overall look and mood of the room. Your choice of bedding can accentuate or diminish your room-decorating efforts. You can spend an outlandish amount of time and money decorating your bedroom, but the wrong choice of bedding may leave you with disappointing results.
There are three important factors when making a decision on bedding: color, style, and quality.
When choosing bedding color and style check to make sure it is in sync with your decorating goals. First, think about the mood you are trying to achieve. This is sometimes an element that is overlooked by do-it-yourselfers. If you want calm and relaxation, stick with cool colors such as green or blue. If you want sexy or vibrant, choose warm colors such as red or orange. Create a sophisticated enclave with soft yellows. Neutral colors can help bring balance to any room. Add black for a dramatic effect and a touch of elegance and mystery. If using mostly neutral colors in the room be sure to add a splash of color for interest and contrast. A combination of neutrals and small amounts of color can create a cozy feeling. Different intensities of a color can create different moods. For example, soft pinks are associated with little girls or babies and are calming. Rosier pinks create a romantic feel to a room. Bright pinks, like reds, are energizing and stimulating. Many books are available that explain the effects of color and suggestions for color schemes. It is well worth the time to study this aspect of decorating.
Choose bedding that matches your personality or the personality of the person who will be using the room. Just because bedding may work for the room does not mean it is right its occupant. If the style preference is contemporary, then choose bedding with clean lines and unfussy details. Embroidery, jacquards, and some patterns are more traditional. Add decorative pillows in accent colors for a dramatic touch. Don’t forget the mood you are creating and keep the bedding formal or casual depending on your goals. Find bedding that makes YOU happy and meets all of your requirements. After all, we spend about a third of our lives in the bedroom. Why not make it your place of solitude or escapism where your can enjoy the fruits of your life and experience some self-indulgence.
Before making a decision, obtain a swatch or purchase a pillowcase or sham to determine if the fabric will work properly with your décor. Fabric color and texture can take on a completely different appearance depending on the room’s natural and artificial lighting and at different times of the day.
Initially you may have seen the bedding in a store and may have loved the color. But colors are not constant and are greatly influenced by light and other colors. They may look dramatically different in different environments. Or, you may have seen the bedding on the Internet, but colors on the Internet are never a perfect match to the real thing. Consider that Internet colors are often distorted first by the photography and software, then by your monitor and computer hardware. Two computers with the same hardware can still render colors differently because the color settings may be different.
Purchase high quality bedding for its durability and luxurious look. High thread count sheets in Egyptian cotton are good indicators of high quality linens, but other fabrics are offered in luxury linens as well such as silk, linen, and organic cotton. Purchase the highest quality sheets and bedding you can afford. Why spend money on bargain bedding that will soon pill, fade, and loose its luster? Dress your bed with quality linens in the right color and style for you and your décor and you’ll have a private sanctuary that you’ll love for years.

Whether or not you are using a BBT Thermometer, Ovulation Calendar, Ovulation Detection Kit, or the ever-so-lovely Cervical Mucus Method of detecting ovulation, there is nothing more sexy and romantic during your baby-making time than a fabulous fertility breakfast-in-bed.
It’s as easy as bringing the bacon to the egg!
Start with a hot brew of coffee or tea as the breakfast beverage of choice. Just one cup of coffee prior to love-making is known to improve sperm motility. Or knock-up your passion a notch or two with Peppermint Tea, which is abundant in vitamins A and C, calcium, iron, zinc and magnesium, all known to rev up your body in all the right places!
Next, bring on cinnamon buns (we’re talking food here, not your favorite nickname!), which are reputed to increase penile blood flow by as much as 40%. And depending upon your diet preferences, doughnuts are a scandalously sexy treat. According to researchers at Chicago’s Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, the scent of doughnuts causes the greatest increase in penile blood flow of any food tested.
If you’re feeling particularly domestic, egg each other on. Whatever your preference in preparation, eggs fall into the aphrodisiac category because of their magical nutritional values of protein, vitamins A and D, and iron. But most important for you, eggs stimulate sexual desire. So poach, scramble, fry, or boil – eggs are sure to get you over, easy.
Or maybe you want things a little easier than that. Grab a bowl of your favorite cereal and sprinkle with your nuts! Honestly though, nuts and seeds are known fertility inducers. Nature’s perfect foods, nuts and seeds are loaded with perfectly proportioned fatty acids, vitamin E, zinc, protein, and complex carbohydrates – all nutrients that will make your morning. Try almonds or hazelnuts, or seeds such as pumpkin, sesame or sunflower as an added kick to your crunch. And don’t forget that milk, with its vitamins A and D, and calcium, is the motherhood beverage of choice. Go on, do your body good.
And of course let’s consider the seductive and succulent powers of fruit. Ahhh. Try feeding each other grapes. Red or green, grapes are packed with vitamins A, B6, and C, as well as folic acid, all known fertility enhancers. Or think juicy. Think large. You still there? Think papaya, a lusty little fruit and an excellent source of vitamin C and folic acid. And let’s not forget the luscious strawberry. Strawberries are packed with vitamin C, folic acid and potassium, and are considered a powerful sexual stimulant.
Breakfast takes on a whole new meaning when you are aware of the powers that aphrodisiacal foods bring to fertility. The beauty of these foods for deliciously sexy baby-making is that they enhance your sexual desires and bring fun and romance to the morning of, and/or the morning after.
So go on, eat your breakfast-in-bed!
